General Policies

Enjoy the Inn and surrounding nature year-round.

The Inn & Cottage are open year-round with a two-night minimum stay.

Our Inn rooms are limited to single or double occupancy only.

Journey Inn is an adults-only property. Children ages 10+ are welcome at our nearby Cottage rental. Please visit our Cottage Page for details.

Occasionally, we may accommodate one-night stays based on availability. Please call or text 715-710-1800 or email info@journeyinn.net to inquire.

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-In: Beginning at 4:00 PM
Check-Out: By 12:00 Noon

For arrivals after 7:00 PM, please use the self check-in instructions sent via text message. Our team can be reached by call or text at 715-710-1800, which forwards directly to our cell phone.

Property Guidelines

Quiet Hours are from 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM.

No smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere inside the Inn, Cottage, Forest Spa, or surrounding property.

No fireworks are permitted anywhere on the property.

Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused to the property by themselves or anyone in their party.

Only registered guests are permitted on the property unless prior arrangements have been made with management.

Cottage Pet Policy

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the Cottage with a $75 pet cleaning fee.

  • Maximum of 3 dogs permitted

  • Pets must remain leashed when outside and around other guests

  • Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets

  • Pets are not permitted to bathe in soaking tubs or indoor tubs/showers

  • Excessive barking or aggressive behavior may result in additional fees or removal from the property

Accessibility

Please note that the Flora Fauna Room features an ADA-modified bathroom with accessibility accommodations. Due to the natural landscape of the property, some outdoor areas, trails, and gathering spaces may include uneven terrain, gravel paths, hills, boardwalks, or steps.

We encourage guests with mobility concerns to contact us prior to booking so we may help determine the best accommodation for your needs.

Nature & Wildlife Disclaimer

Journey Inn is located within a peaceful natural setting of woods, prairie, bluffs, and waterways. Guests may encounter wildlife, insects, uneven terrain, changing weather conditions, mud, ice, ticks, mosquitoes, and other natural elements during their stay.

Guests exploring the property, trails, creek areas, sauna pathways, or outdoor spaces do so at their own risk and are encouraged to use appropriate footwear and take normal outdoor precautions.

Reservation & Cancellation Policy

Guests reserve a unique accommodation exclusively for their stay. Due to our limited number of accommodations, we adhere to strict reservation and cancellation policies. Journey Inn is a small family-owned business and cannot be responsible for inclement weather, illness, family emergencies, travel interruptions, or other unexpected events requiring changes to your plans.

We strongly encourage guests to consider purchasing private travel insurance if an unforeseen cancellation would create financial hardship.

Please review our policies carefully prior to booking.

  • A 50% deposit is required at the time a reservation is made

  • Reservations canceled more than 30 days prior to arrival will receive a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee

  • Reservations canceled 15–30 days prior to arrival will forfeit their deposit

  • No-shows, early departures, or cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival will be charged in full

Winter Weather Policy

During severe winter weather emergencies where there is an official warning to stay off the roads — either in your location or ours — guests will receive a gift certificate for the amount of their deposit.

Retreats & Special Events

Please note that retreats, weddings, group bookings, and special events may be subject to separate cancellation policies, which will be provided at the time of booking.

Reservation Deposits & Payments

Lodging Deposits

Online reservation deposits are generally based on the cost of a one-night stay at double occupancy rates. Solo retreat rates and special package pricing will be finalized at check-out when the remaining balance is paid.

Forest Spa Deposits

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required when scheduling a Forest Spa appointment. This deposit will be applied toward the balance of your spa service.

A credit card is required to remain on file for all reservations. Your payment information remains confidential and is never shared with third parties.

Privacy Policy

When you contact Journey Inn by phone, text, or email to inquire about services or make a reservation, we may collect personal information including:

  • Name

  • Phone number

  • Email address

  • Home address

  • Payment information

This information is used solely for reservation and communication purposes.

No mobile or personal information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will never be shared with third parties.
