As we enter into the holiday season each year, it is met with excitement , joy and anticipation of creating special moments and memories with our families and friends. It can also be a time of very high stress, feelings of grief for those we have lost, feelings of inadequacy while watching social media posts of the perfect cookies/trees/decor/family photos, and feelings of frustration because it feels like you’re once again doing all of the work without anyone noticing? Sound familiar?
We want you to take some time to learn some self preservation practices to keep you centered, grounded and present in order to enjoy your loved ones and the festivities you have created this season! We have gathered some amazing women who will share some practices you can use in everyday life to stay centered, bring you back to center when you’re overwhelmed and hopefully be able take moments for yourself in your busy lives.
About our Classes:
Aromatherapy & Acupressure Class : Charlene Torchia will teach you all about the uses and properties of essential oils and then guide you to create your own signature scent in a body oil to take with you! The second half of her two hour class, she will guide you through the art of acupressure to relieve headaches, anxiety, pain, stress, help with digestion and much more!
Mindful Presence in a Busy Season: Join Author Laurie Jonas, founder of Living Marvelously, for an enlightening session on mindfulness. As the holiday season approaches, it’s easy to get swept away by the hustle and bustle, losing touch with the present moment. Laurie will share practical mindfulness techniques and self-care strategies to help you stay grounded, reduce stress, and fully embrace the joy and beauty of the season. Learn how to navigate holiday stress, set healthy boundaries, and cultivate a sense of peace and gratitude that will carry you through the busiest time of the year.
Teachings For Contentment: Katherine Krieser , MSc, RYT 200, will be referencing a book called The Yamas & Niyamas, Exploring Yoga’s Ethical Practice as she discusses the philosophies of yoga and how they can be applied in our everyday lives.
Awaken Flow Yoga: Katherine will lead this flow yoga Saturday after breakfast to focus on the connection between our breath, movement and our mind.
Restful Yin Yoga: Katherine will lead you in this candlelight evening yoga that will be a slow paced style with asanas that are held for longer periods to slow down your body and relax for a restful slumber
