The Cottage, at Journey Inn, an eco-retreat,
is a cozy vacation rental home nestled in a beautiful secluded coulee (small valley), just three miles from Lake Pepin (the Mississippi River).

The Cottage is for guests who are looking for a quiet get-away or retreat in a natural setting. Just one hour from St. Paul, MN, a stay at The Cottage is accessible to the Twin Cities and other areas, yet provides guest with a sense of restful seclusion.  Pets and children over 10 are allowed at The Cottage.

What we offer

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen (with complimentary teas, coffee and delicious, clean well water), a casual dining area, a living room with wood stove, two bathrooms (one with shower, one with a spa tub) and a covered front porch. The living room, dining room and kitchen occupy a bright, open floor plan and are fully tiled. The two king bedrooms have wood floors and large windows. Additionally, the living room has a queen sleeper sofa plus several other chairs and a small library. All rooms offer excellent views of the surrounding hills and woods. 

The 33-acre property affords guests opportunities for biking country roads, as well as hiking our trails that pass through prairies, woodlands and hills. Enjoy bird watching by day and star-gazing the wide-open, dark skies at night. You will have a private grill and a shared campfire area with seating.

Many nearby attractions are available to our guests including art galleries, restaurants, unique shops and wineries. There are bountiful opportunities for driving or biking scenic roads along the Mississippi or back country into the hills of The Driftless Region of Western Wisconsin. Art-inspired guests can experience Spring and Autumn art tours, The Stockholm Art Fair, music, theater and other activities throughout The Mississippi Valley region.

 **Our Property also includes a small library, a well curated gift shop. A barrel sauna for our guests to use and an available spa experience in our Japanese Soaking Tub or a luxurious magnesium foot soak.

 

 

Prices & Policies

Cottage rentals are a two night minimum.

Rent 5 Nights & the 6th Night is FREE!

Rates:
Summer Season : May 1st - August 31st

$360 per night

Fall Season: September 1st - October 31st

$375 per night

Winter Season: November 1st - April 30th

$295 per night


(6 Adult Occupancy - $25 per additional Adult)

Breakfast at the Inn is available for an additional $25.00 per person per meal - please let us know the day prior

Pet Policy: Dogs are welcomed with signing of a dog agreement and nonrefundable fee of $50 for the first dog, and $25 for each additional dog. Please no more than 3 pets. Please do not bathe your pets in our bathrooms.

CHECK-OUT: 12pm

Reservation/Cancellation Policy:
Reserve room with deposit of one-half of your stay on our reservation system.  A full refund is given with two-week advance notice of cancellation; a gift certificate for amount paid is issued with less than a two week notice. The deposit is non-refundable with less than 48 hours cancellation notice. $35 handling fee for cancellations.
